Budding sports jounalist Jennifer Dunne practices her art with this account of a fictitious All Ireland Quarter Final
On Sunday Tipperary were playing Cork to get into the All-Ireland Semi-Final. About 10 minutes into the game Cork won a penalty when Eamon Corcoran fouled Ben O'Connor in the box. Jerry O'Connor took the penalty and Brendan Cummins stopped it. After 25 minutes Tipp were down by one point. Cummins pucked it out straight into the hand of Shane McGrath. He had Lar Corbett out on the wing so he hand passed to him and the Thurles man scored a point.
At half time Pat Kerwick came on instead of Seamus Butler. The two teams were drawing as the referee threw the ball in. James Woodlock got it and passed it in to Eoin Kelly who was fouled for a penalty. He stepped up to the ball. He took his time so the referee blew the whistle. Kelly scored a goal. Cork were down by 3 points. The goalkeeper quickly pucked it out. Conor O'Mahony jumped up and caught the ball. He cleared it to Seamus Callinan who soloed down the field and scored a point. The Cork goalkeeper pucked it out. Jerry O'Connor got it and went for a point from the side. Shane Maher hooked him. Conor O'Brien got it and cleared it. The final whistle blew. Tipperary had won. The score was 2-14 to 1-11
