Despite a brave attempt from a very young 'C' team they also finished third and therefore failed to qualify for the next round.

Well done to all the boys and girls who represented their school with enthusiasm and skill on the pitch and with manners and good behaviour off it. Thanks again to the parents who came along to support and in some cases manage the teams.

Easter Soccer Blitz
On the 7th. of March St. Joseph's took part in a Soccer Blitz organised by Scoil Ruain in Killenaule. The matches took place on the astro-turf and the teams lined out five-a-side. Two girls had to be playing at all times. We sent along two teams for the day.

Team A
Shane Cleere (Capt.), Paul Butler, Robert Horan, Miriam Walton, Kayleigh Moore, Jennifer Dunne, Sarah Condon, Darren Prout, Daniel Dunne and William Ryan.

Team B
Luke Britton (Capt.), Jack Cashin, Liam O'Brien, Kieran Hanrahan, Adam Kealy, Rory Hayes, Amy Perdue, Aimee Fahy, Emma Clancy, Sarah Patchell and Leanne Prout.

Team A qualified from their group and were unluck to be beaten in the final. They received a set of lovely medals for their efforts.

Despite winning a match Team B failed to get out of their group.

Our thanks go to Ms Gubbins who organised the event and to the Transition Year students who ran the competition to effectively. We're keeping our fingers crossed that there will be a similar event next year.

Thank also to the parents who came to support the players and to help out with the running of two teams. As always it was much appreciated.
