The school recently participated in School Game Playing Day an initiative organised by Hasbro to promote the playing of family board games while raising money for charity. This year we were allowed to use the occasion to raise much needed funds for our own school. Altogether we managed to raise €112. Well done everybody!
On Friday 24th October it was School Game Playing Day. I was very excited because we were allowed to wear in our Hallowe'en costume and to bring in a game. We had to bring in €3 for it.
When we came in we got our photographs taken and then we told ghost stories. After break we played our games. I played a game with Leanne. After lunch we had a raffle and after that we played games and ate sweets for the rest of the day.

The day was finally here. I was out of bed very quickly. I got dressed but not in my uniform oh no! I got dressed as a cowgirl 'YEE HAW'! I came down and Mam told me a scary local story about the Headless Horseman.
The bus collected me at the usual time and on it were Conor the skeleton, Katie the witch and John the zombie. When we got into school we recorded ourselves telling our scary local stories. Then we played games. There was 'Family Fortunes', 'Buckaroo', 'Battleship' and others.
When break time came we played boys after girls. For the rest of the day until 2 o'clock we played our games. Then we went down to the hall and everyone who brought in money got put into a raffle for a giant 'Connect 4'. Alice Cashin won. She is in the same class as me. When we came back up we played more of our games and were given sweets. Katie gave Mrs Noonan a CD and we were all dancing.

On October 24th. we got to dress up and play games. We played 'Four in a Row' and 'Snakes and Ladders'. We paid €1 to dress up and €2 for 'School Game Playing Day'. After that we went down to the hall for a raffle for a giant 'Four in a Row' game. Alice won. Then we went back to the classroom to play more games. They were fun. We had a surprise for Ms Crowe who was retiring. She got lots of presents. After that we got crisps, sweets and cake.

On the 24th of October we celebrated School Game Playing Day. We wore our Hallowe'en costumes to school. Sir had a 'Connect 4 World Cup' and Paul won it. I was playing against Aiden in it. I brought in the game Fib Finder. It was really fun.
