Ms Una Crowe retired from teaching on November 2nd 2008. Ms Crowe had worked in St Joseph's as a Learning Support teacher since April 2000. At various stages during this time she had also been shared with Lisnamrock NS and Slieveardagh NS. All three schools would agree that her many talents and her professionalism will be a great loss to the teaching profession. Her wisdom and advice have been appreciated by all who have worked with her. Ms Crowe's musical talent brightened up many a school performance and her expertise on the keyboard has been of great benefit to many choirs down through the years.
On Friday October 24th. the children and parents got their chance to say goodbye to Ms Crowe where a gathering was held in her honour. Children who had benefitted from her teaching presented her with various gifts including a specially commissioned drawing by local artist Catherine Hayes. To mark her contribution to music in the school Ms Crowe was presented with a beautiful brooch in the shape of a musical note. Two cards were presented to her, one signed by all the students and another made and decorated by her own students. Mrs Marie Clancy made a presentation on behalf of the Parents Council as a thank you for all Ms Crowe's work.
The children then rounded off proceedings by singing the song 'One More Step'. When they returned to their classrooms they were delighted to find that Ms Crowe had provided a plethora of sweets and crisps as a parting gift.

The staff, students and parents of St Joseph's would like thank Ms Crowe for all that she has done for us and would like to wish her a long and happy retirement.
